Healthcare & critical environments

Room pressure monitoring for hospitals and critical rooms.

We supply, install and commission Setra FLEX, SRCM and Lite room pressure monitors that track differential pressure, temperature and humidity, alarm at the door, and report to the BMS.

What it is

Critical environment monitoring is the continuous measurement of room conditions, mainly the pressure difference between a room and its surroundings, so staff can see at the door whether an isolation room, operating theatre or clean room is holding its required condition, and are alerted when it is not.

Setra room pressure solutions

Setra Systems room pressure monitors, selected, installed and commissioned by our team for each type of critical space in hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories and clean rooms across Saudi Arabia.

Guide: how to choose a room pressure monitor

Airborne infection isolation rooms

Negative pressure

Keeps the room negative to the corridor so airborne pathogens stay inside, with an audible and visual alarm if the door is left open or pressure is lost.

Setra FLEXSetra SRCMSetra Lite

Protective environment rooms

Positive pressure

Keeps the room positive so immunocompromised patients, such as transplant and oncology patients, are protected from corridor air.

Setra FLEXSetra SRCM

Operating theatres

Positive pressure, temperature, RH

Monitors positive pressure together with temperature and humidity on one screen at the theatre door.

Setra FLEX

Compounding pharmacies (USP 797 / 800)

Positive / negative cascade

Monitors the pressure cascade between ante-room, buffer room and hazardous-drug room, with temperature and humidity on the same screen.

Setra FLEXSetra Lite

Laboratories and clean rooms

Pressure, temperature, RH

Holds the designed pressure relationship between rooms and logs pressure, temperature and humidity for audits.

Setra FLEXSetra SRCM

Sterile processing, endoscopy and bronchoscopy

Pressure verification

A simple light-ring indicator for spaces where staff only need a quick pressure check at the door.

Setra LiteSetra FLEX

Target sectors

Healthcare and hospitals

Isolation rooms, protective environment rooms, operating theatres, ICUs, hospital pharmacies, sterile processing and endoscopy.

Pharmaceutical industry

GMP clean rooms, production and filling areas, quality control laboratories and compounding facilities that must hold a pressure cascade and keep records.

Why it matters

Infection control

Negative-pressure isolation rooms keep airborne contaminants from reaching corridors; positive-pressure rooms protect vulnerable patients.

Visible status

A display at the room shows the live condition, so nurses and facility teams do not rely on assumptions.

Records for audits

Trend logs and alarm history support accreditation reviews and troubleshooting.

FAQ

Where can I get Setra FLEX, SRCM or Lite monitors in Saudi Arabia?

Electrex Arabia supplies, installs and commissions Setra FLEX, SRCM and Lite room pressure monitors for hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories and clean rooms across Saudi Arabia, from its office in Riyadh. Send the room schedule or drawings and we reply with a technical and commercial offer.

What is a differential pressure room monitor?

A differential pressure room monitor measures the pressure difference between a room and the space next to it, usually the corridor, shows it at the door, and alarms when the room stops being negative or positive as designed. It is used in isolation rooms, operating theatres, pharmacies and clean rooms.

Setra FLEX, SRCM or Lite: which one do I need?

Choose FLEX for full room monitoring: 6 parameters per room (pressure, temperature, humidity, air change rate and two more), with control as an option. Choose SRCM for 4 parameters with an industry-best accuracy pressure sensor, ideal for isolation and protective rooms. Choose Lite where a simple green/red pressure indication at the door is enough.

Do Setra monitors connect to the BMS?

Yes. Setra FLEX supports BACnet/IP and BACnet MS/TP, SRCM is available with BACnet plus analog outputs, and Setra Lite provides an analog output. We map the points into the BMS for central alarms and trend logs.

Can room monitors work without a BMS?

Yes. A monitor can run standalone with a local display and alarms. Where a BMS exists, it can also connect over BACnet for central alarms and trend logs.

What is the difference between monitoring and control?

Monitoring measures and alarms. Control also adjusts HVAC equipment, such as dampers or valves, to hold the room at its setpoint.

Which pressure values should a room hold?

ASHRAE 170 sets a minimum of 2.5 Pa (0.01 in WC) for negative airborne infection isolation rooms and for positive protective environment rooms. The final setpoints come from the project specification, and we configure the monitors and alarm limits to the approved design.

Do you supply only, or install as well?

Both. We act as the main contractor for supply, installation, cabling, programming, testing, commissioning and documentation.

Can monitors be fitted in existing rooms?

Yes. The monitors flush-mount in standard electrical boxes, and FLEX offers an external pressure sensor for walls thinner than 50 mm, so they suit renovation projects as well as new hospitals.
